Easy Node & Full Node
Bastyon runs on nodes operated by its community. There are two official ways to run one: the beginner-friendly Easy Node and the full PocketNet Core node. Both keep the network alive and can stake PKOIN.
Which node should you run?
Same goal — support the network and stake PKOIN — but a very different setup.
Easy Node
The simple route. Easy Node is built into the Bastyon desktop app, so you install everything through a menu instead of a terminal. It handles the blockchain download and gives you a wallet panel with deposit, transfer and backup controls.
- Best for: first-timers and anyone who wants a graphical setup.
- Setup: a few clicks inside the app.
- Control: node on/off, wallet, sync status in one window.
Full Node (PocketNet Core)
The complete node software (pocketcoin). Available for Windows and Linux, as a Docker container and as a headless pocketcoind daemon for servers. It gives command-line control and can act as a public node serving the network.
- Best for: operators, server owners and advanced users.
- Setup: installer or Docker, then sync the chain.
- Control: full
pocketcoin-clicommand set.
| Compare | Easy Node | Full Node |

| Skill level | Beginner | Intermediate / advanced |
| Interface | Graphical, in-app | GUI (pocketcoin-qt) or CLI (pocketcoin-cli) |
| Server / headless | No | Yes |

System requirements
Both node types share the same baseline for a public, staking-capable node.
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Operating system | Windows 7+ (64-bit) or Linux (64-bit) | Same |
| Processor | 2-core x86-64 | 4-core x86-64 |
| RAM | 4 GB | 12 GB |
| Internet | 10 Mbit | 100 Mbit + public IP |
| Storage | 150 GB free SSD | 150 GB free SSD |
Good to know: the blockchain can take from a few days up to over a week to sync fully, and storage use grows over time. Requirements can change as the network grows — always check the official guides on the Sources page first.
