Understand how new coins enter circulation, how block rewards are split and why supply mechanics matter for long-term PIVX economics.
PIVX has no maximum supply limit. With every new block, 10 new PIVX coins are minted.
One block is created every minute (~1,410 blocks daily). Here's how rewards are structured:
| Category | Reward |
|---|---|
| Masternode Owners | 6 PIVX |
| Stakers | 4 PIVX |
| Treasury (conditional) | +10 PIVX (only if proposals approved) |
| Period | Blocks | Masternode Rewards | Staking Rewards | Treasury (max) | Min New Coins | Max New Coins |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Day | 1,410 | 8,460 | 5,640 | 14,100 | 14,100 | 28,200 |
| Week | 9,870 | 59,220 | 39,480 | 98,700 | 98,700 | 197,400 |
| Month (30d) | 42,300 | 252,600 | 169,200 | 423,000 | 423,000 | 846,000 |
| Year (365d) | 514,500 | 3,085,900 | 2,059,600 | 5,145,000 | 5,145,000 | 10,290,000 |
Info: Every 43,200 blocks (~30 days), up to 432,000 PIVX can be generated if proposals are approved.
Fees: All transaction fees are burned and permanently removed from the total supply. This means: the more transactions happen, the more coins are burned which leads to a decrease of total supply.
Fee burning matters because network usage is not neutral. Every transaction removes fees from circulation, so real activity pushes against inflation and gives the PIVX monetary story a much stronger long-term angle than reward emissions alone.
